텔레그램 보다 보안성이 더 우수한 Secretum 메신저

저희들이 일반적으로 보안이 우수하여 해킹에도 좋다고 생각하는

메신저 중에 텔레그램이 있습니다.

 

그런데 사실 그렇지 않다는 내용과 함께 새로운 메신저 Secretum 를 소개하는 내용이 있습니다.

그리고 텔레그램은 현재 기준 세계에서 5번째 메신저 앱으로 알려져 있습니다.

그런데 이런 텔레그램이 사실 우리가 알고 있던 사실과 다르게

해킹과 보안에 그렇게 우수하지 않다는 사실이 있습니다.

 

그 근거로 하기와 같은 내용들이 있습니다.

Despite its success and growth, recent events have begin to  put into doubt the reputation of Telegram as a the go-to safe messaging app:

1. In June 2019, hackers were able to break into the Telegram accounts of thousands of top Brazilian officials, including President Bolsonaro 
2. In March 2020, Telegram mistakenly exposed the data of 42 million users (user account IDs, phone numbers, and names). 
3. Telegram suffered a massive data leak in August 2020 that exposed the personal data of over 500 million users.
4. Cybercriminals were able to take advantage of Telegram’s chat scripting tools to hack bank account data.
5. The cyber unit of the Chinese government claimed in 2018 to be able to hack into Telegram.

 

그리고 하기의 내용과 같이 텔레그램이 기본적으로 보안에 취약한 이유가 설명 되어있습니다.

Telegram has been designed in a way that by default exposes its users to a variety of risks:

1. Telegram needs access to the user’s phone contacts for registration,  and collects IP data (the user’s location). That means users can only message people they know, while the stored contact info jeopardises data security.
2. Some end-to-end encryption options are offered using the MTProto 2.0 protocol, but some messaging remains unencrypted.
3. Having a cloud-based architecture means all messaging histories are stored on Telegram’s cloud – where it is vulnerable to being hacked.
